IN MEMORY OF

LINDA GAYNELL ABLES
Pearl Mississippi
Linda Gaynell Ables, 43, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Funeral services were Jan. 10 at Line Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Kenneth Ables and Bro. Tal Vardaman officiated.
Linda was a native of Plant City, Fla., and had lived in Pearl for the past five years. She enjoyed working with crafts.
Survivors include her daughter Barbara Ables, of Pearl; sons Sidney Ables and Kenneth Ables, both of Pearl; mother Gaynell Hickey, of Friendswood, Texas; sisters Lisa Hagy, of Manvel, Texas and LeeAnn Emmons, of Pinellas Park, Fla.; grandchildren Sidney Ables III and Kenneth Ables Jr.; and fiancé Ron Gaebel, of Pearl.
Pallbearers were Roger Ables Sr., Roger Ables Jr., George Harris, Vince Warren, Dwayne Fulcher and Jonathan Aaron.
Linda was released from prison October 31, 2006. This photo of Linda was taken just before Christmas 2006. She suffered a heart attack on the 28th of December 2006, and lived in a coma for 11 days after.
Linda was the co-author of  the original "Our Life's Journey the Program". She was a tremendous help to me in creating and writing the program from the inside. While incarcerated she touched the lives of many of the women offenders in a positive fashion. Linda will be sorely missed by all that knew her. May she rest in peace with God.
Special thanks to the Line Creek Baptist Church in Morton MS, for their donation of a grave plot, and monetary contributions to the family to help with expenses. Thank you all. Also special thanks to Hospice in Ridgeland MS for the wonderful, and gracious care they provided Linda in her last days, and for the moral support and  loving attention they gave the family and myself.  God bless all of you at Hospice. And a very special thanks to Margaret  Tohill for the care and understanding of Linda through the word of God, inside the prison and out, and her prayers and patience with me in troubled times. You are appreciated more than you will ever know. Thank you and God bless you.
